What about NASA Time Trials? Thats what I'm aiming for this year. Competitive, but little risk of crashing and totaling your car.

That's easy. Just drive around and look for the first lowered fartcan civic and throw him some revs. Then it's a race.

No rollcage or firesuit required. Ran like HPDE's but with transponders. Your fastest lap of the day is whats scored. Theres several classes to keep it competitive, and cars within a class have handicaps if they are too dominant. Its also not as strict as autocross. For example having coilovers can put you in modified with 700HP corvettes in autocross. In NASA TT you get up to 20 points to use how you want. R comp tires are 5 points for example, springs might be only 2. Full coilovers are more points. Its up to you how you want to use them.
